SCOPE OF WORK: IRC is seeking a Driver to assist Fleet and Transport officer in day-to-day tasks in Airport and daily movement for Expats. JOB SUMMARY: Under supervision of Fleet and Transport Officer. The Driver supports tasks including transport staff and expats to their destinations. WORKING RELATIONS: Regular & open communication on day-to-day tasks with SC team Communication with National Staff and International expats on their requests. Work closely with SC officer MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: IRC Drivers are responsible for The safe transportation of IRC personnel The safe transportation of IRC materials The care and maintenance of IRC vehicles and their accessories Accurate filling and on vehicles onboard documentation. Prepare required reports. Key Result Areas Adhering strictly to the IRCs vehicle policies and procedures, including the use of seatbelts by all passengers. Daily and pre-long distance vehicle checks, accurate upkeep of the vehicles log sheet. Keeping vehicles cleaned, fueled, and mechanically maintained. Checking and maintaining all vehicle accessories advising the Transport/Fleet Officer of any defects or problems. Updating vehicles onboard tools, equipment including, jacks, spare wheels, wheel spanners, stereo, VHF/HF radios. Assets and Equipment management Ensure that all IRC assets and equipment under you are well maintained. Ensure that all assets allocated to you are signed off equipment issue form provided by the supply chain officer in charge of asset management. Ensure that the movement of IRC assets in any vehicle is tracked and advice transport officer in preparation for the necessary documentation for sign-off approval when an asset changes its status within the transport department. Safety and Security To ensure that staff operate in a safe and secure working environment. To ensure that the IRC vehicle(s) assigned to you have all the safety requirements for movement. To ensure that there are fully stocked First Aid Kits available in all IRC Vehicles. To ensure regular security check with the senior field safety and security officer before authorizing any movement out of the field. This job description is not exhaustive and additional tasks in the remit of the role may be added / removed according to operational changes.REQUIREMENTS: A. Qualification: Secondary School Certificate. Valid driving license Competent in Written and spoken English. B.Experience: Demonstrable ability in the following competencies: 2 – 4 yrs. work as a professional driver No road safety-related fines or convictions Thorough knowledge of road rules and regulations Skills in minor vehicle repair Competent in spoken and written English Basic numeracy. Knowledge (or ability to quickly learn) of HF, VHF, and satellite communications equipment. Team spirit and problem-solving abilities. Able to carry out limited, unsupervised tasks. C. Skills and Abilities: Very good written and verbal skills in both English and Arabic language. Ability to carry out responsibilities independently with minimal technical support. Good interpersonal skills that function across a diversity of multi cultures work environment. Excellent interpersonal and time management communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent people skills, culturally sensitive with the ability & interest to work in a multi-cultural team. Medium digital literacy: e.g., Windows, MS office programs, word, excel, internet/email. Careful of details in document preparation and drafting. Write required reports. D. Proficiencies: Active listening and effective communication. Professionalism and work ethic. Receptive and Resilient.
