Job Title: Newcomer Support Programs (ANSP/UNSP) Intern Location: Hybrid State Date: November 2025 Duration: 6 Months (to May 2026); 16+ hours per week; Standard business hours. ***** NOTE: This is an unpaid internship. ******* ABOUT US: The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the worlds worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. ABOUT THE JOB: The ANSP/UNSP Intern will support the Afghan and Ukrainian Newcomer Support Programs (ANSP and UNSP) by assisting staff with community outreach, client engagement, and data management. The intern will help identify and connect eligible community members with available services, assist caseworkers with research and community mapping to strengthen referral networks, and ensure accurate data collection across IRC platforms. Through these activities, the intern will contribute to IRCs mission of helping refugees and other vulnerable populations achieve stability, self-sufficiency, and successful integration into their new communities. LEARNING OUTCOMES: Intern will gain hands-on experience in community outreach and engagement, learning effective strategies for connecting with and informing refugee and immigrant populations about available services. Intern will learn about the operations and structure of a large nonprofit organization. Intern will develop research and data management skills through community mapping, client documentation, and use of case management databases. Intern will enhance communication and design abilities by creating outreach materials and supporting the planning and promotion of educational workshops. RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct outreach to program-eligible Afghans in the community to educate them about services offered through ANSP Assist ANSP and UNSP Caseworkers in conducting research and community mapping in order to provide clients with relevant, need-based referrals Enter client and touchpoint information onto different IRC platforms to ensure data collection and reporting requirements are met Ensure the completion and accuracy of inputted data on different IRC platforms Create event flyers and assist in designing workshops Other duties as needed REQUIREMENTS: Proficiency in written and oral English Effective communication and strong attention to detail Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills Fluency in Dari/Farsi REQUIRED Proficiency with computer and research skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Canva Our Hiring Process: Attend an info session to learn more about this opportunity.
