Result of Service
The Individual Contractor will support the project officer in implementing the activities of the CASA project, including the organization of capacity-building workshops, high-level forums, consultation meetings, stakeholder coordination, development of analytical reports and policy guidance on digital technologies for air pollution monitoring and mitigation, and resource mobilization in the overall context of the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway Action Plan 2022-2026.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Clean Air for Sustainable ASEAN (CASA) initiative is a four-year ESCAP project (2023-2026) supported by the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund. The project aims to strengthen the policy capacities of ASEAN member States to increase the use of digital technology applications and digital data for monitoring and mitigating air pollution. The project addresses SDG Target 3.9 for reducing deaths and illnesses from air pollution, targeting a region where air pollution causes millions of premature deaths annually. The project is jointly implemented by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in collaboration with key partners including the ASEAN Secretariat, Seoul National University (SNU), the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) of Korea, the World Health Organization (WHO), and government officials across ASEAN countries. In this connection, the ICT and Development Section (IDS) of ESCAP plans to recruit an international individual contractor to support the project officer in implementing the project activities.
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced University degree in one or more of the disciplines in ICT, Economics, Public Policy, or related field. Proven experience in designing and implementing programmes and stakeholder coordination. Proven experience in drafting and revising publications in the field of ICT or related
Languages
Excellent command of spoken and written English.
