Employee Contract Type: Local – Temporary Job Description: Job Purpose: The Assistant Electrical Engineer supports the Technical Coordinator (Water & Sanitation) in ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and reliability of electrical and mechanical components of WASH systems in Rohingya refugee camps. The role focuses on maintaining water supply infrastructure, including generators, solar pumps, and electrical networks, while ensuring the functionality of WASH facilities, proper equipment management, coordination with community stakeholders, and timely monitoring and reporting in line with UNICEF LTA standards and the BRCR program priorities. Key Deliverables: Ensure effective operation and maintenance of electrical systems supporting WASH infrastructure, including generators, solar pumps, and electrical networks for water distribution. Maintain uninterrupted operation of generator and solar-powered water supply systems to ensure continuous water distribution services in assigned camps. Conduct regular inspection, servicing, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment to ensure reliability and safety of WASH facilities. Supervise daily laborers and solid waste management volunteers to ensure proper functioning of waste management systems and maintain hygienic conditions in assigned camps. Verify the quality and specifications of materials and equipment delivered by vendors to ensure compliance with project requirements. Maintain effective coordination with community leaders, Majhi, Imams, and camp management to facilitate smooth implementation of WASH services. Prepare and submit weekly and monthly operation and maintenance reports, monitoring updates, and technical documentation related to WASH electrical systems. Key Responsibilities: Implementation of the WASH services: Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly work plan for the operation and maintenance of WASH facilities in his/her assigned block/camps that are included but not limited to water distribution network, solid waste management sites and FSMs Manage all the generator of water network Manage all the Solar pump and solar power water network. Looks after all the electrical work of the camp Manage daily labor & SWM volunteers to ensure hygienic environment in the assigned block/camps Ensure 100% functionality of WASH facilities in the assigned block/camps Validate quality materials are received in the field from vendors/other stakeholders Ensure the careful use, regular servicing and appropriate replacement of all equipment for the assigned project Implementation of the WASH services: Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly work plan for the operation and maintenance of WASH facilities in his/her assigned block/camps that are included but not limited to water distribution network, solid waste management sites and FSMs Manage all the generator of water network Manage all the Solar pump and solar power water network. Prepare and maintain weekly/monthly O&M report, monitoring reports etc. Educational Qualifications: Degree in WASH related subject (BSc/Diploma in electrical engineering) Knowledge &Skills: Familiarity with the issues around water, sanitation and hygiene related issues and behaviors. Familiarity with protection issues in WASH, gender & Inclusion in WASH and accountability to affected persons programming Familiarities of using KoBO/other online survey tools and methods of data collection. Excellent coordination capacity with individuals and community group Excellent spoken Chittogonian or Rohingyan, desirable. Must be ready to work in a multi-cultural environment Appropriate communication skill and approachable Must have no history of violation of children rights Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment.Experience: 2 3 years relevant work experience, preferably 1 year in the humanitarian settings. Suitable candidate must have in depth knowledge in solar network. Work Environment: Must be able to do multiple tasks and willingness to travel in various locations of Bangladesh Rohingya Crisis Response ( BRCR) as required. Salary: Negotiable Availability: Candidates with immediate joining availability will be given preference. Workplace: On-site (office-based) Employment Status: 6month contractual position, with the possibility of extension subject to donor approval.
