Employee Contract Type: Local – Temporary Job Description: Job Purpose: The purpose of this position is Promote safe and inclusive WASH practices in line with established standards and community needs. Supervise and support Hygiene Promotion Volunteers to ensure effective community engagement and behavior change. Conduct regular monitoring of WASH infrastructure and facilitate community feedback for improved functionality and cleanliness. Build community capacity through training, awareness sessions, and the implementation of participatory hygiene promotion approaches. Lead WASH supply distribution and assessments while promoting safeguarding, CFRM, and protection principles across all activities. Key Deliverables: Support the implementation of community-based hygiene promotion and behavior change activities (CCC-PLTH, RANAS, Learning Through Laughter and Play). Promote safe and inclusive WASH practices in accordance with humanitarian standards and codes of conduct. Ensure effective supervision and coordination of Hygiene Promotion Volunteers (HPVs) to deliver hygiene promotion activities in the community. Facilitate the formation and functionality of community groups such as WASH Committees, Child Leader Groups, MHM Facilitator Groups, and Water/Latrine User Groups. Conduct household visits and community sessions to encourage improved hygiene practices and community participation in WASH services. Engage community leaders, Majhi, Imam, and other stakeholders to support hygiene promotion activities. Conduct regular monitoring of WASH infrastructures including latrines, bathing facilities, tube wells, and handwashing stations to ensure cleanliness and functionality. Collect community feedback through CFRM and monitoring tools to improve WASH service delivery. Conduct joint monitoring visits with WASH committees and volunteers. Supervise and support Community-Based Volunteers / Hygiene Promotion Volunteers to effectively conduct hygiene promotion sessions. Organize training and orientation sessions for volunteers and community groups on hygiene promotion and safe WASH practices. Lead the distribution of WASH items and hygiene kits, including MHM kits, ensuring proper targeting and awareness on correct use. Conduct community assessments and surveys related to public health risks such as scabies, AWD, and dengue. Identify needs for non-food items related to hygiene and public health. Organize mass awareness campaigns, hygiene promotion sessions, and day observations with community participation. Promote community awareness on safeguarding, PSEA, and inclusive WASH practices. Maintain accurate records of hygiene promotion activities, household visits, and monitoring reports. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports and work plans to supervisors. Support data collection and documentation for program monitoring and improvement. Coordinate closely with Hygiene Promotion Officers, WASH teams, and community stakeholders for effective program implementation. Participate in coordination meetings and share field-level updates and challenges. Key Responsibilities: Implementation of hygiene promotion activities: Promote safe WASH practices in line with relevant standards and codes of conduct

  • Ensure daily attendance of Hygiene Promotion Volunteers, Supervision of the Hygiene promotion volunteers & community group members to ensure effective community engagement & hygiene promotion
  • Regularly follow up and monitor the activities of the Community-based Volunteers/HPVs;
  • Assist the community-based Volunteer to cascade down the different Hygiene Promotion (HP) approaches, i.e. CCC-PLTH, RANAS and Learning through laughter and play;
  • Conduct community-based capacity building training & orientation for the community groups like WASH committee, Child Leader Groups, MHM Facilitators Groups, Latrine & Water User Groups etc. on hygiene issues Follow up monitoring of all infrastructures (like latrine, bathing, tap stand, tube well, hand washing device and all types of solid waste) for ensuring cleanliness as well as considering functionality using PMT-sanitation;
  • Promoting the Community Feedback and Response Mechanism (CFRM) system at the field level and taking action promptly;
  • Taking the lead in distributing WASH supplies and various types of assessments/surveys on scabies, AWD and dengue, as well as other contemporary issues;
  • Mobilize the community to practice inclusive WASH services and aware the community and the volunteers on PSEA and safeguarding issues and
  • Taking the lead to organize a mass awareness program (Campaigns and day observation) in line with the community and other respective stakeholders.
  • Conduct different survey as per requirement of hygiene promotion team Taking lead to distribute wash items including MHM kits towards the community.
  • Timely provide Daily, monthly report to HPO-TC(H) as required need based Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly work plan with the support from Officer- Hygiene promotion. Conducted session with Community Leader, Wash Committee, Model Mothers & Children (LTLP) separately to ensure Community Engagement
  • Identification of any need for the distribution of non-food items related to public health, such as containers, soap, hygiene kits, etc. Regular household visit and Joint monitoring with WASH committee members to ensure WASH services adequately functional. Ensure Capacity Building of the Hygiene Promotion Volunteers for appropriate hygiene promotion. Practice, promote and endorse PSEA policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. Partnership & Coordination: Ensure close liaison & consultation with Community leaders, Imam, Majhi during implementation of the WASH services. Prepare and maintain weekly/monthly HH visit report, AoR wise HP activity report, monitoring reports etc. Educational Qualifications: Bachelor degree preferably in social work/social science/ arts/humanities/public health or any other relevant field. Education qualification up to HSC can be accepted for exceptionally experienced female candidates. Knowledge &Skills: Excellent coordination capacity with individuals, community group representatives, NGOs, WASH officers, and government officials. Experience in the RANAS methodologies, CCC_PLTH and child-focused approaches. Knowledge of the UN system and the humanitarian community. Must be ready to work in a multi-cultural environment Appropriate communication skill and approachable Must have no history of violation of children rights – Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment Excellent spoken Chittogonian or Rohingyan Excellent spoken in Bnagla & English Experience: 2 3 years relevant work experience, preferably 1 years in the humanitarian settings.
