STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT LEAD JAPAN (Japanese Speaking) The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the international organization for public-private cooperation. The Forum engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas. In Japan, the Forum convenes senior representatives from government, business, civil society and academia into its global activities, initiatives and communities. The Forum is strengthening its presence in Japan to amplify its impact by deepening community engagement, relationship management, knowledge networks, and delivering strategic projects and initiatives. As part of the World Economic Forums Tokyo office, the Stakeholder Engagement Lead will spearhead engagement with non-governmental and non-business stakeholders across Japan, including academia, think tanks and civil society organizations. The role will also support the development of the Forums Innovators Community, engaging leading start-ups and entrepreneurs in Japan. Reporting directly to the Chief Representative Officer of the World Economic Forum in Japan, this position is based in the Forums Tokyo office. Duties and Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of the Forums strategy in Japan, translating global priorities into a roadmap with defined KPIs, stakeholder engagement plans and measurable impact. Build and manage a senior-level stakeholder portfolio across academia, think tanks and civil society, strengthening institutional partnerships in Japan. Support the growth the Forums Innovators Community by identifying, evaluating and onboarding high-potential start-ups and entrepreneurs Oversee the end-to-end delivery of initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines and reporting processes in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Manage external fellows and collaborators deliverables supporting Forum projects and thematic initiatives in Japan Qualifications and Skills Masters degree in economics, business, public policy, technology governance, or other relevant field with interdisciplinary background At least 15 years of professional experience in strategy consulting, programme development, technology, or corporate strategy with demonstrated experience leading multistakeholder initiatives and partnerships Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and operate with a high degree of autonomy Outstanding verbal and written language skills in Japanese (native level) and English; verbal proficiency in other languages would be an asset Excellent organizational and project management skills, with strong relationship-building capabilities and the ability to thrive in a multicultural, highly collaborative environment.
