About IRC
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive, recover, and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the IRC works in over 40 countries and 20 U.S. cities to restore safety, dignity, and hope to millions who are uprooted and struggling to endure.
Mission
To help people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their future.
Vision
A world where all people live in safety, dignity, and with hope for the future.
Impact
The IRC provides health care, helps children learn, empowers individuals and communities, promotes economic wellbeing, and stands up for the rights of those in need. Our work touches millions of lives each year, promoting lasting solutions to humanitarian crises.
