Job Summary

As the Deputy Director, Information Security, you will lead a technical team within our Global Security division. Your role is to manage the foundation's information security risk by overseeing the design and operation of technical security controls, leading incident response efforts, and setting the strategy to protect our information assets. This leadership position is crucial for enabling the foundation's global mission.

Key Details:

• Job Title: Deputy Director, Information Security
• Location: Seattle, WA
• Salary Range (Seattle): $227,400.00 to $352,400.00 USD per year.
• Team: Information Security (within Global Security)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage an Information Security team focused on technical controls design and security operations.
• Set the strategy for risk prevention, threat detection, and incident response.
• Manage the services and providers that form our security operations capability.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members to foster a culture of commitment and continuous improvement.
• Stay current on emerging technologies, industry best practices, and the threat landscape.
• Collaborate across the foundation to socialize ideas and build partnerships.

Required Experience & Skills:

• 10+ years of experience in Information Security management, with 7+ years in people management.
• 5+ years of experience in InfoSec operations, including incident response.
• Expertise in security standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO27001, GDPR).
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud computing (Azure/AWS), and identity management.
• Excellent collaboration, facilitation, and communication skills.
• BS in Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.
