Job Summary
UN Women is seeking a Human Resources Analyst for its office in Dakar, Senegal. At the NPSA-9 level, this role is responsible for implementing HR strategies and policies in compliance with UN Women rules and regulations. Reporting to the Regional HR Business Partner, the HR Analyst will manage recruitment processes, contract administration, performance management, and staff well-being initiatives. This position promotes a client-oriented approach and works closely with Programme and Operations teams across the West and Central Africa region to ensure effective human resources management. Fluency in both English and French is required for this one-year fixed-term role.
Scope of Work
The Human Resources Analyst promotes a collaborative, client-oriented approach and contributes to the maintenance of high staff morale. They will work closely with Programme and Operations within the Regional Office, Country Offices and other presences, to provide effective human resources management.
- Implement HR strategies and policies in compliance with UN Women rules and regulations.
- Monitor corporate HR policies, assess impact of changes, and make recommendations.
- Conduct HR business processes mapping and establish internal SOPs.
- Oversee recruitment processes including reviewing job descriptions, vacancy announcements, screening candidates, and facilitating interviews.
- Manage contracts for staff and personnel in the Region.
- Coordinate benefit and entitlement management.
- Monitor HR transactions through the ERP system (preferably Oracle Cloud).
- Facilitate performance appraisal processes and support learning and development plans.
- Administer onboarding and off-boarding processes.
- Enhance staff/management relations and implement well-being initiatives.
- Organize HR-related trainings and contribute to knowledge networks.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Certification:
- Advanced (Masters) University Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Public Administration, or other relevant social sciences.
- A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of progressively relevant experience in human resource management with focus on at least two of the following: performance management, contract administration, recruitment, and staff learning and development.
- Work experience with an international multicultural organization is required.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) is required.
- Experience in handling modern web-based ERP management system, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.
- Work experience within the UN system is desirable.
Languages:
Fluency in French and English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
