Result of Service
Collected data filled-up forms through team-based fieldwork for 80 villages and 240 households each in South Shan and East Shan, and 40 villages and 120 households in North Shan, for a total coverage of 200 villages and 600 households. Collected GPS data and field verification photos through team-based fieldwork for each visited village.

Duties and Responsibilities
Working under the direct supervision of Survey Coordinator & GIS Specialist, the individual contractors will be responsible for the following assignments: 1. Participate in the socio-economic survey training in person (probably online for North Shan due to field security situation) before the field campaign in the respective survey region. 2. Manage the survey questionnaire forms, list of sampled villages and priority alternative villages (if in case the sampled village is not reachable in terms of security and accessibility), and survey materials such as field cameras, GPS devices, etc. 3. Go to all selected villages in the respectively assigned zone and conduct interview-based data collection as per techniques and guidelines trained in the survey training. 4. Make clear to the community with the purpose of the survey to gain their confidence and willingness to collaborate in the interview. 5. Fill up properly the surveyed answers in the forms in the presence of interviewed group and collect relevant field pictures. 6. Cross checks the recorded data with all available information and double-checks the answers. 7. Maintain the answer forms as per guidelines and deliver them to the field supervisor in a timely.
Qualifications/special skills
High school diploma or equivalent is required. At least two years of relevant work experience related to this assignment is required. Basic experience in field data collection for illicit crop surveys, such as socio-economic surveys, impact assessments, or crop yield studies in opium poppy growing areas is required. Familiarity with the targeted survey areas is required. Preferable experience working with international organizations, and engagement with local authorities and ethnic communities is desirable. Strong ability to stay focused under pressure, with a dedicated commitment to intensive, opportunity-driven data collection, are desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in Myanmar language, is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.
