Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Advocacy

Drive Enterprise Roadmap: Partner with the Business Leads and Portfolio Leads to design and execute a roadmap for Enterprise Analytics that aligns data initiatives with ASCOs strategic mission.

Foster Data Culture: Act as a thought partner and advocate for Business Intelligence (BI) best practices, fostering a culture where data-driven narratives inform every major business decision.

Anticipate Trends: Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies to ensure ASCOs analytics capabilitiesfrom traditional BI to AI-ready datasetsare continuously evolving.

Architecture & Data Engineering Collaboration

Modernize Data Structures: Collaborate on the architectural design and modeling of multi-cloud Big Data platforms to support a scalable, high-performance analytic ecosystem.

Optimize Data Design: Lead the conceptual and physical database design efforts to ensure data storage is optimized for both retrieval speed and business relevance.

Govern with Integrity: Establish and maintain robust documentation and metadata standards to ensure data quality, transparency, and compliance across the organization.

Insight Delivery & Self-Service Empowerment

Craft Actionable Narratives: Design world-class, visually rich dashboards that translate complex datasets into clear, narrative-driven insights for stakeholders.

Democratize Data: Scale self-service analytics by implementing intuitive tools and providing the training necessary for business users to find their own answers.

Deliver Outcomes: Focus on measurable business results, ensuring that every BI solution implemented results in improved processes or smarter decision-making.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g., Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics) or equivalent years of specialized training and professional experience.

7+ years of progressive experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Data Management, including proven history of designing and scaling enterprise-grade data solutions in a multi-cloud environment.

Demonstrated experience leading large-scale BI and Analytics initiatives within complex organizational structures.

A track record of strategic collaboration with key stakeholders and executive leadership to align data initiatives with overarching organizational goals.

Deep expertise in data architecture, logical and physical modeling, SQL, and Big Data platforms. A solid understanding of database design and optimization techniques to ensure high-performance data retrieval.

Strong grasp of the full analytics development life cycle and enterprise architecture principles.

Proven ability to drive organizational change and facilitate high levels of end-user adoption for new BI tools and processes.

Expertise in establishing data documentation and governance frameworks, including best practices for metadata management and data quality.

Preferred Education and Experience

Relevant industry certifications such as Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) or Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) are highly encouraged.

Previous experience in healthcare, oncology research, or non-profit sector(s) is a significant plus.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and persuasively.

Proficiency in using communication skills, including written, to establish authority, build consensus, and drive organizational change.
