Full Job Description

Recovery Worker Supported Living Mental Health

Hours:37 Hours per week, on a rota basis as this is 24 Hour service, Day shift is 9am-5pm or sleep ins.

Salary:25,867-28,930 Contract: Permanent

Location: St Stephen’s Close, Willington, DL15 0DQ

About the role

24 Hour Supported Housing

Waythroughs St Stephens Supported Housing service allows tenants to develop skills and coping strategies to manage their own tenancies and mental health needs.

We work with people on a one to one basis, using a recovery based model and individual support planning to empower them to develop opportunities, gain skills and experience and make positive choices in their lives.

We have eight self-contained flats for people to develop the skills needed to move on to more independent living, with our staff working individually with tenants to develop practical and emotional tools and skills to become and stay independent

What You’ll do:

Experience in supported living, mental health, care, or social work (preferred)

A genuine passion for helping others achieve independence

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships

Willingness to undertake medication training and the Care Certificate

Flexibility to work a varied shift pattern including weekends and sleep-ins

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

What you’ll need

Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

Previous experience/knowledge of mental health

Applicant must be flexible to do sleep ins as when required & be on the on call rota

Ability to respond compassionately to sensitive and complex issues

Able to motivate, support and advocate for people using services

Able to work effectively unsupervised and as part of a team
