Apprentice Manager
The Urban Technology Project (UTP) is the School District of Philadelphias I.T. Apprenticeship in partnership with Launch of Philadelphia. UTP empowers Philadelphia youth and underemployed adults with the skills and experience required to enter the technology field.
Apprentice Manager Job Description:
The Apprentice Manager reports directly to the School District of Philadelphias Executive Director of I.T. Apprenticeship. The Apprentice Manager will recruit, support, coach and manage a cohort of 20+ apprentices, cultivate and strengthen employer partnerships, while ensuring the success of both the apprentice and employer.
Apprentice Manager Job Duties:
Lead recruitment, placement, training, development, and exit processes for apprentice
Co-lead orientation for all new apprentices
Support apprentice at their assigned worksites at schools, offices and companies throughout Philadelphia
Conduct bi-monthly site visits at each worksite
Maintain communication with employer partners
Lead weekly team meetings with apprentices
Track apprentice success and attainment of industry certifications
Provide apprentices with performance evaluations, coaching and corrective action plans as needed
Collect, review & submit payroll
Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications
3-5 years of leadership experience in youth development and/or workforce development
3-5 year of management experience
Strong organizational and communication skills
Project Management skills
Collaborative team player
Positive can do attitude
College degree or equivalent work experience Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of apprenticeships
Experience in the technology field
Fluent in the use of GSuite Tools (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc)
Salary:$60K
Work schedule:Hybrid
