The General Assembly and ECOSOC Affairs Division (GAEAD) of the UN Department for General Assembly and Conference Management (DGACM) provides procedural and technical support to the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), and their subsidiary bodies, covering the full spectrum of global issues.
Job Summary
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the work of the United Nations. As an intern, you will directly support the GAEAD team by assisting in the preparation for intergovernmental meetings, attending and summarizing proceedings, conducting research on procedural precedents, and contributing to various other tasks that facilitate the work of the General Assembly and ECOSOC.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing procedural notes and other materials for intergovernmental meetings.
- Attend and summarize meetings of the General Assembly, ECOSOC, and their subsidiary bodies.
- Help with meeting logistics, including managing lists of speakers and virtual connections.
- Conduct historical research and examine procedural precedents.
- Compile statistics, maintain databases, and assist with data analysis.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Must be enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor's program, or enrolled in a graduate program (Master's or PhD), or have graduated within one year.
- Skills: Must be computer literate in standard software applications (MS Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Languages: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage.
- Commitment: Must have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the UN and a personal commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter.
- Experience: No working experience is required.
