Job Summary
This consultancy provides an opportunity to contribute specialized expertise to United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat)’s mission in sustainable urban development, housing rights, and urban planning. Working in Spain, you will apply your professional skills to address complex challenges in sustainable urban development, housing rights, and urban planning and support the organization’s programmatic objectives. This role offers the flexibility of consultancy work while contributing to meaningful international development outcomes with global impact.

Qualifications
- Academic Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years of experience supporting partnership and coalition coordination; advocacy and global multi-stakeholder event organization; SDG localization, including multi-stakeholder collaboration, knowledge sharing, engagement in intergovernmental processes, and the development of SDG localization strategies and knowledge products is required.
- Academic Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in supporting administrative, legal, and operational processes, including procurement support, drafting partnership agreements, preparing Terms of Reference, and supporting internal documentation.
- Fluency in English & Spanish is required for this specific consultancy.
- Language: Knowledge of another UN official language is an asset..
Skills
- Develop advocacy strategies that identify and map strategic engagement opportunities to position the Coalitions narrative, tools, and priorities across major global policy processes, including UN conferences and partner-led activities.
- Support the design, implementation, and refinement of stakeholder engagement strategies, such as the Road Tos, for the Coalitions constituencies and Local2030 Hubs.
- Support the coordination of partnerships with networks of local and regional governments, civil society platforms, UN entities, Local2030 Hubs, private-sector actors, academia, and other global partners to strengthen SDG Localization.
- Provide guidance on conceptualization and planning of global events, including drafting concept notes, programs, and talking points, and coordinating with internal and external partners.
- Develop and update Terms of Reference and operational guidance for Local2030 governance mechanisms, ensuring alignment with Coalition priorities and operational needs.
- Support the organization of the Local2030 Coalition governance-mechanism meetingsincluding the UN Directors Group, Steering Committee, and Local2030 Hubsensuring coherence with Coalition priorities and effective follow-up.
- Organize and facilitate stakeholders engagement meetings, including constituency consultations, workshops, and partner dialogues, ensuring alignment with Coalition objectives.
- Contribute to drafting strategic documents and knowledge products, including Road Tos reports, policy briefs, and recommendations that guide Coalition approaches to SDG localization.
- Support the integration of stakeholders and Hubs contributions into policy briefs, thematic papers, ministerial declarations, and interagency processes using online forms and tools.
- Research and identify locally driven policies and solutions and support their systematization and monitoring, ensuring accountability and alignment with global mechanisms and policy platforms.
- Support drafting and coordination of legal instruments, including partnership agreements, MoUs, and other cooperation frameworks, to strengthen Coalition operations.
- Support administrative processes, including consultant onboarding, procurement, supervision of interns, and internal documentation workflows.
