Result of Service
The Individual Contractor will perform the following tasks: 1. Graphic Design and Visual Content Creation Develop high-quality visual materials in line with United Nations branding guidelines and UNRCPD visual identity standards. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Event branding packages (logos, banners, backdrops, roll-ups and signage)
- Brochures, flyers, posters, factsheets and infographics
- Social media graphics (static and animated)
- Web visuals and digital campaign assets
- Report covers and layout concepts
- Data visualizations and illustrated explainers 2. Publication Layout and Editorial Design Design and format publications for print and digital dissemination, including:
- Policy briefs, research reports, guidance documents and toolkits
- Annual reports and donor reports
- Training manuals and workshop materials
- Conference programmes and concept notes Ensure professional typography, structured layouts, accessibility considerations and preparation of print-ready files. 3. Image Creation and Editing Create original illustrations, icons and visual assets tailored to disarmament and peacebuilding themes.
- Edit and enhance photographs (colour correction, retouching, resizing and optimization for web and print)
- Produce simple animations or motion graphics for digital campaigns, as requested 4. Brand Consistency and Visual Identity Support
- Ensure consistent application of United Nations and UNRCPD branding guidelines across all materials
- Develop visual identity packages for major events or multi-year projects
- Update and refine templates for recurring products (e.g. social media series, newsletters, certificates and event slides) 5. Multimedia and Digital Content Support
- Design visual assets for short videos and multimedia storytelling
- Develop visual concepts for awareness campaigns
- Support the layout and visual formatting of web-based content 6. Revision and Quality Assurance
- Incorporate feedback from UNRCPD staff and stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
- Deliver final products in appropriate formats, including editable source files, print-ready PDFs and web-optimized files
- Maintain organized archives of design assets and templates created under the consultancy 7. Ad-hoc Design Support Provide rapid-response design support for time-sensitive communications, including event announcements, press materials and social media campaigns.

Duties and Responsibilities
The United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Asia and the Pacific (UNRCPD) is a regional arm of the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) and assists countries in the Asia-Pacific region in achieving their peace, security and disarmament goals through the provision of substantive support; coordination of activities at the sub-regional, regional and international levels; and the sharing of information on global and regional activities. UNRCPD is mandated to provide, upon request, substantive support for initiatives and other activities mutually agreed upon by the Member States of the Asia-Pacific region for the implementation of measures for peace and disarmament, and to coordinate the implementation of regional activities in Asia and the Pacific (United Nations General Assembly resolution A/42/39D of 30 November 1987). UNRCPD works in close partnership with regional and sub-regional organizations, as well as with other United Nations entities and civil society organizations. The Centre focuses its activities in three main areas: providing capacity-building and technical assistance, creating and participating in dialogue fora, and engaging in outreach and advocacy on disarmament issues. This contract supports the communication, outreach and advocacy objectives of UNRCPD. The Visual Designer will enhance the visibility, accessibility and impact of UNRCPDs work across its priority areas, including arms control, weapons of mass destruction, emerging technologies, disarmament education and youth outreach. Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Director and in close coordination with programme and communications staff, the Individual Contractor (IC) will conceptualize, design and produce high-quality visual materials for print and digital dissemination in full compliance with United Nations branding guidelines. This includes the layout and formatting of reports, policy briefs, toolkits, training materials and event documentation; the creation of infographics, illustrations and data visualizations; the development of digital and social media assets; and the design of presentations and event branding packages. The Individual Contractor will translate provided content into clear and visually compelling formats tailored to diverse audiences, including government officials, donors, youth and civil society organizations. The role also includes supporting multimedia and visual storytelling initiatives, ensuring consistency of visual identity across products, incorporating feedback in a timely manner, and delivering professional, accessible and publication-ready outputs within agreed timelines.
